The Data Room activity view shows what has happened inside the room.

There are two main types of activity:

  1. Folder activity

  2. File activity

Folder activity shows changes connected to a folder. This may include:

  • folder created

  • folder shared

  • folder access changed

  • folder opened

  • folder permissions updated

  • files added to a shared folder

File activity shows actions connected to a specific document. This may include:

  • file uploaded

  • file viewed

  • file moved

  • file renamed

  • file downloaded, if tracked

  • new version uploaded

  • document sent for signature

  • document signed

  • file deleted

The activity log helps you understand what changed, who interacted with the room, and whether investors or advisers have opened key documents.

If an investor says they cannot see a file, check:

  1. The file is in the correct Data Room.

  2. The file is in the correct folder.

  3. The folder or file is included in their access.

  4. Their invite was sent to the correct email.

  5. Their access has not been removed.

  6. The file uploaded successfully.

  7. The public link has not been revoked.

If the wrong file was shared, update the permissions, remove the person’s access, or revoke the public link if needed.
